This Privacy Policy explains how Senquity OÜ (registry code 17152798) ("Silicon Paw," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares personal data when you visit our website, download or use the Silicon Paw app, contact us for support, purchase or activate the product, or otherwise interact with us.

This Privacy Policy should be read together with our End User License Agreement and any product-specific notices shown at checkout or inside the app.

2. What personal data we collect

A. Website data

Our web server may log: IP address, user agent (browser type and version), request URL, referrer, and timestamps. We do not run analytics or tracking scripts.

B. Purchase data

If you buy or activate Silicon Paw, we may collect: email address, order/transaction ID, license ID, product version, purchase timestamp, refund status, and billing country. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store full payment card details.

C. App data

The app may generate technical data locally on your device, including: app version, macOS version, hardware model, compatibility results, setup state, error messages, and diagnostic logs. This data is stored locally on your device only and is not transmitted to us unless you choose to submit it for support.

D. Support communications

If you contact support, we may collect: your email address, message content, diagnostic bundles you choose to submit, and troubleshooting notes.

3. Data we do not collect

We do not intentionally collect: contents of your Steam library, full payment card details, sensitive personal data (as defined in Article 9 GDPR), personal data from children, or unrelated files from your device.

4. How we use personal data

A. Provide the product

License activation and management, delivering updates, and maintaining security.

Lawful basis: performance of a contract (delivering the product you purchased).

For free downloads and compatibility verification before purchase: steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

B. Process purchases

Orders, payment verification, license generation, refunds, and chargeback handling.

Lawful basis: performance of a contract; legal obligation (tax/accounting records).

C. Support

Answer requests, review diagnostics you submit, investigate issues.

Lawful basis: legitimate interests (responding to support requests, troubleshooting, and maintaining product quality). Where you choose to send diagnostic files, we process them as part of handling your support request. You may stop submitting diagnostics at any time; this does not affect processing already carried out.

D. Security and abuse prevention

Detect license abuse, prevent fraud, investigate crashes, and maintain service integrity.

Lawful basis: legitimate interests (specifically: protecting the product against fraud and license abuse, maintaining service security, and defending legal claims).

E. Legal obligations

Transaction records, tax/accounting compliance, lawful authority requests.

Lawful basis: legal obligation (Estonian Accounting Act, tax law, lawful authority requests).

5. When providing data is required

We need certain purchase and activation data (email address, payment confirmation) to process your order, generate your license key, and provide refunds. If you do not provide this data, we cannot complete the purchase or activate your license.

We need your email address to respond to support requests. If you do not provide it, we cannot assist you.

Providing diagnostic data for support is voluntary. You are not required to submit it.

6. How we share personal data

We may share data with:

  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Hosting/CDN providers — serving the website and downloads
  • Email/support providers — processing support communications
  • Legal advisers — if needed for dispute resolution or compliance
  • Authorities — where legally required

We do not sell personal data.

7. International transfers

We use service providers that may process personal data outside the EEA. Where required, we rely on European Commission adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses and supplementary measures as appropriate. You may request information about the applicable safeguards by contacting support@siliconpaw.com.

8. How long we keep data

  • Purchase/billing records: up to 7 years from end of financial year (Estonian Accounting Act)
  • Support history: up to 2 years
  • Diagnostic uploads: up to 90 days
  • License/anti-abuse records: retained for as long as reasonably necessary to manage licenses, prevent fraud/abuse, handle refunds/chargebacks, and resolve disputes
  • Server logs: up to 90 days

9. Your rights

Under applicable data protection law, you may have rights to: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Right to object: Where we process your data based on legitimate interests, you have the right to object to that processing. We will stop unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests.

10. Children

Silicon Paw is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

12. Cookies

We do not use non-essential cookies, advertising trackers, or analytics scripts. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and request consent where required before setting non-essential cookies.

13. Third-party services

Silicon Paw relies on Stripe for payment processing and Steam for game authentication. When you interact directly with Stripe or Steam, their own privacy policies govern their independent processing of your data.

14. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
